JAMII & SUMMER WORKS

  • David Crombie Park 131 The Esplanade Toronto, ON, M5E Canada (map)

While Jamii regularly hosts outdoor programming throughout the year to unite our community on various occasions, and SummerWorks aims to showcase new and innovative Canadian work, they emphasize that the event dates have been deliberately chosen around August 1st to align with Emancipation Day. This intentional scheduling allows us to curate a program centered on the overarching theme of emancipation.

Please note that, although we won't explicitly market the event as an Emancipation Day celebration,we do plan to acknowledge this significant day on the event itself to raise awareness among our audience. The essence of our intent holds great meaning to us.

TIMES AND LOCATION: The performances would be in the early evening (around 6 to 8pm), in David Crombie park, where Jamii’s home is. The performance would be outdoors (we have a back up space indoors in case of bad weather).

AUDIENCE: Our events are free, open to everyone (all ages, with families), and free. We expect between 100 and 250 audience members.
