Week 7 Lounge music in the market

The seventh installment of the Rudy Ray Show was a flourishing evening filled with solidarity, unity, and harmony. The talented lineup featured Andrew Stewart on bass, Hannah Sabre Short on vocals, Victor Ray on keys, David Delisca as the host, and myself on percussion, including cajon, shakers, trumpet, and flugal horn. The entire show took place on the TD stage at Union Station, creating a chill and lounge-like vibe that made it feel like we were all gathered in a living room. We performed two sets of laid-back and open improvisational music that captivated the audience.

One of the highlights of the evening was a reconstructed version of the classic song "You Are My Sunshine," which allowed David to share a heartwarming story about the return of his five-month-old son and his wife, who had just returned from vacation. It was a touching moment that added an extra layer of emotion to our performance.

During the breaks between our sets, DJ Brigidier Shazbad kept the energy alive with an impressive selection of vinyl records. His music added a great atmosphere to the night and kept the audience engaged throughout the evening.

To kick off our second set, Sabre debuted her new song titled "Knife&Bottle," which was produced by her partner Joseph Callender. It was a powerful and soulful performance that showcased Sabre's talent as both a singer and a songwriter. Nathan Baya then closed out the show with three incredible original tunes titled "24," "Wavy," and "Mi Amor." His captivating performance left the audience wanting more and created an unforgettable ending to the night.

I would like to express my gratitude to all the food and beverage vendors at the Union Summer market for providing delicious options throughout the evening. Personally, I couldn't resist trying the burgers from Tuts Egyptian Street Food, and they definitely exceeded my expectations.

As the year comes to a close, I am eagerly looking forward to the last two shows. The Rudy Ray Show has been a remarkable platform for showcasing talent and fostering a sense of togetherness, and I am excited to be a part of it.
