About

Rudy Ray & Co., a Toronto-based artist collective founded in 2013, blends African Jazz, hip-hop, blues, and soul to celebrate the city and its people. Led by award-winning Ghanaian trumpeter Rudy Ray, the group creates platforms for artists, inspiring growth and community healing.

Rudy Ray appeared as a special guest of Jon Batiste during his Be Who You Are concert tour and performed with Anderson .Paak alongside his brass band, Shout the Band. Rudy also made appearances on the cable television show Murdoch Mysteries and HBO Max’s Welcome to Derry.

In addition to being part of bands that opened and closed the TD Jazz Festival, Rudy produces The Rudy Ray Show, a 10-week summer residency program at Union Station that showcases diverse talent and fosters community through music and art.

  • Rudy Ray & Co. specializes in African Jazz, blues, hip-hop, and soul music. We provide live music services for cultural, corporate, and private events and more. We offer a full band of 5 musicians. Our collaborators are professional and experienced, and we tailor our performances to fit the needs of your event. Contact us today to discuss your music needs!

    Negotiations for 10 min appearances for intro/outro performance starts at $500.00, with arrangements for Duet and trios at $1,000.00. full bands start at $2,000.00 per show

  • Rudy Ray is pleased to offer live horns for recording sessions, catering to the needs of artists and clients.

    His base rate is $75.00 per hour, with a minimum of 3 hours.

    We recognize various aspects to consider, such as royalties, featuring my name on the project versus sessional playing, and the preparation cost. We are open to discussing these matters and exploring ways to ensure the success of your recording session. Let's collaborate and create something great together!

  • If you're seeking to learn or enhance your trumpet skills, look no further than Rudy Ray's private trumpet lessons. Rudy, a highly skilled trumpet player, offers customized, one-on-one lessons for all levels of expertise. So whether you're a novice or seeking to elevate your abilities to the next level, Rudy can create a tailored program to suit your needs.

    Price range from $80.00 for 30-minute lessons to $150.00 for 1-hour lessons.

  • Rudy Ray, a distinguished figure in music and trained neuroscientist available for speaking engagements. He is equipped to deliver comprehensive workshops and lectures on the convergence of music and neuroscience. With his experience in the music industry and he can provide invaluable insights and advice, as well as share personal anecdotes from his artistic journey.     The average rate per hour is $500.00

    Location, accommodation, and room size may affect pricing.

  • For Modelling/Music Video appearances, the base rate is $200.00 per hour.

    However, bringing a specialized wardrobe, location, and extra time may influence final rates.
